Proclamation No. 2020
Declaring Monday, May 10, 2010 as Special Public (Non-Working) Holiday Throughout the Country
WHEREAS, the national and local elections shall be held on Monday, May 10, 2010;
WHEREAS, Monday, May 10, 2010, should be declared a special public (non-working) holiday to give the people the fullest opportunity to participate in the said elections.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, May 10, 2010, as special public (non-working) holiday throughout the country.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 1st day of March, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Ten.

I have been meaning to read this and just never obtained a chance. It is an issue that I’m actually interested in, I just started reading and I’m glad I did.
