Change, even if good, is never easy. While at times we try to convince ourselves that our pants still fit, fact is the waistline has expanded and we need to purchase a new pair. So it is in pants and in business, even with the Pinoy-Business blog.
If we could have our way, we’d maintain the regular pinoy-business.com blog. The familiar green theme has seen the years pass by and served as a repository of all our business-related posts. It has surprisingly climbed the ladder of the search engine world and has convinced a soul (or two) that, “Hey, this makes (some) sense”. The last thing we want to do is to rock the boat. We have this tendency of tenaciously clinging to our comfort zones.
Then the software/platform of the blog component became obsolete and so we had to upgrade, which is a slightly inaccurate term if we want to be nerdy about it (they say it’s migration, as there’s a total system overhaul, rather than upgrading). We tried to hold on to the past. But resistance is futile. We had to upgrade.
And with that comes many glitches. Many of the features stop functioning. Some of the items are gone. We don’t have millions (not yet, anyway), just like many starting entrepreneurs and SMEs, to spend on expert techies to revamp the site.
So we’ve decided to spin off the blog, once again, to a subdirectory. Just add “blog” before the old name. That’s blog.pinoy-business.com (please let us know through the comment section below if the new format is more user-friendly than the old one).
As to what we’ll do with the main site, we still don’t know yet. Maybe we could use it as a directory for entrepreneurs. Maybe there are other uses that would be beneficial to Pinoy Entrepreneurs. We have absolutely no idea what to do about it right now. Maybe you have an idea. Please let us know through the comment section below.
As to this blog component, however, we shall continue regurgitating our thoughts. Hopefully you would share your thoughts as well.
