Pinoys in 2011 Billionaires List

Icon Written on Friday, 24 June 2011

I searched high and low, never finding my name even in the footnote of the footnotes.  The four names from the Philippines in the 2011 list: [...]

Icon Written on Wednesday, 20 April 2011

We need to improve our reaction time to broadcast business opportunities to members of the Pinoy Entrepreneurs community. As earlier noted, there’s obviously a lag time between any communication and the posting of the details in this Business Blog, so we strongly suggest that you use the My.Pinoy-Business feature so the post is automatically uploaded. Business Support: A Discussion with Millette Carlos of MyOffice

Icon Written on Friday, 20 February 2009

When MyOffice was listed at the Directory, I noticed the name Milette Carlos. I remembered reading about Millette in a 2007 issue of a magazine, about mothers who run their business while running their homes smoothly at the same time. The article reveals that Milette Carlos started MyOffice in 2004 with her sister. So within [...]

Icon Written on Thursday, 11 December 2008

Looking at the success (and failure) of others is important for Pinoy Entrepreneurs. We learn a lot from learning about the business experience of entrepreneurs who’ve made it (and, equally, the lessons of those who failed). How do you determine Who are Pinoy Entrepreneurs?

Icon Written on Wednesday, 30 July 2008

There are problems with this title. First, it might be interpreted to refer to a particular person. While we have a category on (and some lists of) successful and inspiring Pinoy Entrepreneurs, the thrust of this article is not to identify any particular Pinoy Entrepreneur, but to characterize an entrepreneur. Having a characterization would make [...]

NeGOsyo: Joey Concepcion’s 50 Inspiring Entrepreneurial Stories

Icon Written on Friday, 11 July 2008

We’ve discussed GoNegosyo under the Internet & Tech category and we’ve also discussed the book in the previous post on Succcessful and Inspiring Filipino Entrepreurs. We’ve just realized, however, that we forgot to include a separate entry for this book under the Books category. This is a significant oversight because this is a book that [...]

O my Gulay: Goolai (Agri-Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative)

Icon Written on Friday, 4 July 2008

In today’s trip to the grocery, my wife bought a Goolai salad pack. After around 3 years since I last worked in Makati, this is the first time I again encountered Goolai (produced by Gemmarc Foods, Inc./Agri-Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative). I hate vegetables, then and until now, but I survived two weeks of purely Goolai lunch [...]
