This early, right before the declaration of August 5, 2009 as a special non-working holiday, the government issued the list of declared holidays for 2010. Good for those who’d want to prepare for their business (and vacation) schedules. The Philippine holidays listed below are under Republic Act 9492 and Proclamation 1841, unless otherwise indicated.
National Regular Holidays and Special Non-Working Holidays (unless indicated as a special non-working holiday, these are regular holidays):
- January 1, 2010 – New Year’s Day
- February 22, 2010 – EDSA People Power (All SCHOOLS Only; Special holiday)
- April 1, 2010 – Maundy Thursday
- April 2, 2010 – Good Friday
- April 9, 2010 -Araw ng Kagitingan (Bataaan and Corregidor Day) (Friday)
- May 3, 2010 – Labor Day (moved from May 1, per Proclamation 2043)
- May 10, 2010 – Elections Day (special public non-working holiday, per Proclamation 2020)
- June 14, 2010 – Independence Day (Monday nearest June 12)
- June 30, 2010 – Presidential Inauguration (special non-working holiday, per Proclamation 2085)
- July 27, 2010 – Iglesia ni Cristo Anniversary (national WORKING holiday, per R.A. 9645)
- August 21, 2010 – Ninoy Aquino Day (special non-working holiday; previously scheduled in August 23 under Proc. 1841, moved to August 21 under Proclamation 13; see discussion here)
- August 30, 2010 – National Heroes Day (Last Monday of August)
- Movable date – Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan)
- November 1, 2010 – All Saints Day (Monday; special non-working holiday)
- November 29, 2010 – Bonifacio Day (Monday nearest November 30)
- December 24, 2010 – Non-working day (Friday; special non-working holiday)
- December 25, 2010 – Christmas Day (Saturday)
- December 27, 2010 – Rizal Day (Monday nearest December 30)
- December 31, 2010 – Last Day of the Year (Friday; special non-working holiday)
- January 1, 2011 – New Year’s Day
The Eidul Adha shall be celebrated as a regional holiday in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
